Role: 5050 UK Program Lead Location: London, UK (in-person) Type: Full-time
Fifty Years is a different kind of VC firm. We support early-stage founders making things civilization needs. We pride ourselves on always going the extra mile for our portfolio founders and have built the 50Y team to help our founders create and scale civilizationally important companies.
We support startups at the forefront of synthetic biology, energy, food, healthcare, space, construction, genomics, and many other industries. 50Y partners with founders in these fields to move humanity to the next level.
It’s working. We’ve backed over 100 deep tech startups and helped them raise over $4.6B in funding. Nearly 20% of the teams Fifty Years backed in our Fund I are now unicorns. All backed from pre-seed or seed.
We’ve distilled everything we know about deep tech entrepreneurship into 5050, our free 16-week program to help great scientists and engineers become great deep tech founders.
Through 5050, participants:
5050 has helped create 45 companies, many of which wouldn't have existed otherwise. Now, we’re building a team in London to bring 5050 to the UK.
We're looking for a relentless builder who will execute a world-class program as we build 5050 into the world's best onramp for deep tech founders. In this role, you'll help inspire and equip hundreds of scientists and engineers to tackle civilization-scale problems, grow into great founders, and build indispensable companies.
You'll execute across all aspects of the program – from growing and strengthening our recruitment funnels to delivering cohort experiences that lead to the creation of counterfactual companies. Working alongside the 50Y Partners, you'll help prepare and run 5050 sessions, including entrepreneurship workshops, lectures, cohort retreats, and office hours. You'll ensure that 5050 participants are deeply supported throughout the program with the mentorship, resources, and introductions they need.
As 5050 grows, you’ll nurture the 5050 alumni community and grow the broader community of UK’s entrepreneurial scientists and engineers. You’ll drive initiatives that make 5050 better – from experimenting with new curriculum sessions to producing short films about deep tech founders in the UK to inspire scientists to see entrepreneurship as a viable path.
